I love the podcast No Agenda. Adam Curry and his gang come up with some really great material now and then. This week they showed some of the links between Goldman Sachs and Obama, and the Obama push for solar and wind power. What a shock, Goldman Sachs is funding many of these “alternative energy” companies. Yeah, bullshit energy.

So follow these links and learn for yourself. Obama, leader of the people? What a joke. This guy is a whore for Goldman Sachs.

Here is Obama’s pitch on solar and wind energy.

Here is the company Obama is pimping for. Sorry, but solar simply doesn’t pay back enough energy to compensate for the energy used to make the panels. Currently, solar is a novelty item.

And here is the news about the upcoming IPO. Yeah, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, the schmuck bankers who robbed us for trillions, are going to reap more money from this joke.

I’ll let MacLachlan drop in his spiel about energy. He loves to pound away on this topic.

Why can’t we do the following:

  • Impeach Obama, then remove him from power. His policies are an overwhelming threat to the continued existence of the nation.
  • Strangle the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and destroy it. Why? because this organization now has the ability to dictate national policy, thanks to President Joker–I mean President Obama (I promised to stop calling him that.)
  • Cut the EPA’s budget by 50 percent to rein in their destructive terror.
  • Rescind all CAFE regs and let the market decide. CAFE is Corporate Average Fuel Economy, a set of regulations that forces ONLY the US companies to elevate the average fuel economy of their vehicles. Recently, Obama’s insanity reached a new high, and he dictated that by 2025 the AVERAGE car would have to deliver 60 mpg. Uh huh. The only way that happens is if you have lots of cars that use little or no gas, meaning electric vehicles.
  • Build in modest tax incentives to encourage use of alt fuels that make sense, like CNG (natural gas) for buses, taxis, delivery vans, heavier trucks that work in the open. I stayed with our man Haywood Brookins about 18 months ago and the Fed ex and UPS trucks running on his street my last morning all proclaimed their use of CNG. You can look to earlier posts for more detail, but the US has HUNDREDS of YEARS of natural gas sitting in the ground, and it can power vehicles and power electrical powerplants. But we are NOT allowed to exploit it because much of it has been put off-limits by cynical establishment of wilderness preserves.
  • And if CO2 is really the problem–Al Gore and the other pack of liars contend that CO2 is heating up the planet–then why discriminate against Clean Diesel, which turns out LESS CO2 than a gasoline engine? OK, they do produce more nox, but that can be contained with the “Clean Diesel” system, which injects urea (yes, man-made horse piss) to “knock down” the particulate matter, and also uses piezo injectors that are so utterly precise the rapid injection of multiple shots of fuel per cycle also virtually eliminates that plume of black soot most people associate with Diesel.
  • Encourage Detroit and Toyota(they are the biggest makers of traditional US pick-em-up trucks) to develop Clean Diesel turbo engines for light trucks. You’ll radically up MPG in a short period of time without sacrificing a way of life or the ability of working-class Americans to earn a living. The owners will love the torque (the gutty, stump-pulling power of an engine), and Diesels  paired with the next generation of sophisticated transmissions will likely double highway mileage for pick-em-up trucks. Yeah, double. Think about that. Yet the psychos at CARB and the EPA will NOT allow this technology to be applied in the US fleet to any great extent. And Ford, GM, Chrysler and Toyota ALL have this technology in one sort or another.
  • Then use the military to kick the Chinamen and others out of the Caribbean and get all that oil for ourselves, including overthrowing Hugo Chavez to ensure that oil comes here. It’s our lake. Get the foreign powers out. Monroe Doctrine. It’s ours. Piss off, China.
  • Cut the budgets for the Department of the Interior and National Parks and open up natural gas exploration and extraction in the Rocky Mountains so we can tap the hundreds of years of energy now off-limits thanks to psycho environmentalists (see above). President Teddy Roosevelt’s intention was to protect the beauty of the remaining wilds of the west, but also have them available for careful development and exploitation. They’re not shrines, they’re resources that should and will be protected, but also they will serve the nation. And Obama put wild horse preserves right on top of vast fields of natural gas as soon as he took office.
  • If there is real demand for electric cars, the infrastructure will quickly follow: charging stations, expansion of grid, more powerplants to feed electricity into the grid. But I think once people know the extreme limitations of electric cars (pathetic range, safe charging is painfully slow, rapid charging is painfully dangerous, cannot work well in anything other than ideal weather conditions), electric cars will be a novelty for weirdoes in Malibu and the Santa Clara Valley. Admittedly, California makes up about 10 percent of the US population, so if you can convert many of these folks to electric cars, that will make an enormous difference. But in humid and hot places? Not so much. And in very cold places? An electric vehicle is a death trap that will leave you stranded in a snow storm.
  • Development of series hybrids like the Chevy Volt and upcoming toyota Prius Plug-In and other types of on-board gneerator driven electrics will greatly extend the utility of fossil fuels in the US. Run a little engine to generate electricity. Sorta like a Honda generator at the campsite. These cars use a tiny gas engine to power a big alternator that feeds electricity to the batteries. So, you could conceivably get 200 mpg, but have the safety of not running out of juice. This technology will work in those hot humid places like the south and much of the Midwest, but not in the colder regions of the upper Midwest and Northeast. It won’t fly.
  • Tap the Palin Pipeline and use that CNG to fire electrical plants in the west, ensuring there won’t be brownouts if enough Silicon Valley kooks guy Nissan Leafs.
  • E40? Another “range extender,” but Ricardo Engineering has the basics worked out.

And another earlier post.

Cap and trade is the energy castration of America. It is a scam by which Al Gore and his crooked banker pals at Kleiner-Perkins will reap massive profits by taxing the energy we use. Obama initially offered a phony incentive to conservatives: offshore drilling and some vague talk about nuclear plants. Then BP and the Gulf. Obama is now doing all he can to stop US production of oil in the Gulf, even while the Russians, Chinese, and even the Vietnamese make deals with Cuba to steal OUR OIL.

The answers are obvious to anyone who knows the energy business, and transportation (meaning the engineering of cars, trucks, heavy trucks, rail and air transport). Obama is NOT offering sensible alternatives. You can search on this site for a report from the Boston Consulting Group that shows how completely inefficient electric cars are. We went through the Boston Consulting report page-by-page. These cars don’t add up. They’re a novelty item for Greater California. (We will admit that with hundreds of billions invested in electrical grid infrastructure, electric cars would work in coastal California for some of the population, but beyond the perfect weather of this region, electric cars are a disaster in the making.)

The US uses too much energy to ever be fully “independent.” But we can flood the world markets and the US with very cheap, abundant energy. Also, with the adoption of a type of fuel already well understood and developed, the US can in a few years become reliant ONLY on petroleum extracted in the New World, the western hemisphere, without a drop of Middle Eastern oil.

To borrow a phrase (and we will properly punctuate the phrase), “Yes, we can”:

  • Tap the real oil reserves of the coastal shelf and the Caribbean. Obama loved the BP spill because it allows him to cap off America’s access to this source of petroleum. Obama’s is a cynical political calculation, the sort that honest Americans DO NOT like.
  • Tap the massive natural gas of Alaska and the Rocky Mountain states. Natural gas is nearly as potent as petroleum-derived fuels (Diesel, gasoline), and the US has hundreds of years of reserves. Yeah, that’s right. HUNDREDS OF YEARS. Natural gas can be used at electrical generation plants, it’s ideal for powering buses, taxis, delivery trucks and almost any other vehicle that is used, stored and fueled in an open-air environment, and it is very, very clean. Read more here. And look, heavy reserves in the Rocky Mountains and Texas, those horrible Red States.
  • Build 100 or more nuclear plants to ensure a steady supply of juice. The nuclear plants can be built by GE and others (hey, GE wants its Obama Payola) with the US Navy providing security from terrorist attacks. Is there anyone on the planet that knows more about nuclear power than the US Navy? Well, OK, the French, the Japanese (both countries rely heavily on nuclear), and of course the thieving Chinamen, who have used Chinese spies working in our defense industry to learn all our secrets, including the secrets of our exemplary navy. You can read more and find additional links to explore at this MIT webpage.
  • Explore an expansion of the hydro-electric power produced in the province of Quebec, which has numerous rivers that can be dammed to produce more juice. Look, the grid in the Northeast gets plenty of its juice from Quebec.
  • Drop the idiotic CAFE regulations and let the free market decide what sort of vehicles Americans should drive (we are the ONLY country that punishes its own auto industry with such stupid regulations). Bear in mind that President Idiot and his Marxist lieutenant at the EPA want to up CAFE to 60 MPG average, which is simply NOT feasible. This move by Obama and Carol Browner is meant to force the adoption of electric-powered Flubber cars. It is meant to kill the US auto industry. It is meant to force more people into urban areas where it’s easier to control people. Think through the implications of taking away people’s access to safe, reliable and cheap individual transportation. Think about that. Obama and his band of Marxists are utter and complete morons. They live in fantasyland.
  • Rewrite EPA regulations that discriminate against modern Clean Diesel engines and encourage the use of such highly efficient engines in all pickups and SUVs, dramatically raising the average miles per gallon of such big vehicles. Instead of your Chevy Tahoe getting 11 mpg, you could get 20+, easily. Realistically, and with prudent engineering decisions, the fuel economy of these big vehicles Americans love could be more than doubled. Think about how that would impact reliance on Arab oil. Diesels actually produce LESS CO2 than gasoline engines, though they can produce more NOX, which is why they have urea injection (yes, industrial refined horse piss) and why they use piezo fuel injectors (expensive, but super-precise). All that crappy black belchfire smoke you see coming from old diesels? In great part due to imprecise old-style fuel injectors. You put modern injectors and urea injection on a modern diesel and it is super-clean, makes massive torque, and delivers phenomenal fuel mileage. Example? A VW Jetta with a Diesel, a classic family sedan, can deliver over 40 mpg, no matter how hard you flog the car. Another example? Audi has dominated professional sports car racing using production-based V12 diesel engines: quiet, powerful, highly fuel-efficient. Imagine the impact such engines would have on our national efficiency if all SUVs, pickups and some sedans were powered with these engines? And imagine if all our heavy work trucks were replaced over 5-10 years with clean diesel work trucks? And with work trucks, it’s relatively easy to retrofit old trucks with new engines. Do you ever here this from the academic pinheads of the Obama Administration? No, because this is classic heard-headed American problem solving. Also, the Green psychotics who have achieved their dream of complete control over the EPA absolutely HATE Diesel, and think electric power is the answer. Problem is, electric only works in certain applications.
  • As mentioned above, run buses, taxis, delivery trucks, and some mid-size transport trucks (say, those used in ports) on CNG, which is clean, cheap, and delivers almost the same punch as gasoline. And again, we have almost limitless supplies of this fuel. Surely in the coming 250-300 years we will figure out a more sustainable form of energy, perhaps the Holy Grail of solar will come together.
  • Offer GE the chance to build wind farms, then laugh when GE does not build them without massive grants from the US government.
  • Develop use of E40 in a range of vehicles, from farm equipment to pickups using innovative technologies currently under development for ultra-high-compression E40 engines that deliver power nearly comparable to a diesel engine. Doubt us? Don’t. The engineering has been done. All the corrosion issues related with E85 and the like? Very easy cure: stainless steel fuel system. E40 is obviously an extension of gasoline, not a replacement (hence “40″). But it will surely stretch the fuel out.
  • Cheer when the US economy burgeons with this flow of cheap energy, which will impact virtually everything in our lives, from the cost of food (fertilizer and transportation costs lowered by cheap fuel, and damn, is food not getting really expensive?) to the cost of a plane ticket to the cost of a summer vacation in the Chevy Tahoe that we can now afford to drive without worry about the cost of the diesel fuel it burns.

Again, our man Ross Simmons worked up a much more thorough piece we’ve posted before, but this is a good summation.

We can and should also take action against Hugo Chavez, who should be deposed and replaced with a group of Venezuelans friendly to the US. That ensures safe access to the oil reserves of the southern Caribbean. We should also take military action against the Russian, Chinese and Vietnamese oil rigs that are currently stealing our oil. I’d love to see us invade Cuba, but now I’m getting ahead of myself.

We should make sure that the Chinamen are driven out of the Caribbean and the Atlantic ocean, where they are currently working deals with the Cubans and the Marxist Brazilians to exploit offshore oil reserves. Amazingly, Obama gave stimulus money to develop the Brazilian oil fields, but that oil will in great part go to…China. Funny, but George Soros is a major stockholder in Petrobras, the Brazilian oil company. Payola? Payback? Uh huh.

Do you think Al Gore is a crook? Do you think man-made global warming is an enormous lie? Do you think Obama is doing all he can to castrate American energy production? Your answer to all should be “Yes.”

You can learn more about Clean Diesel with this video. And no, it’s not just the Germans who know how to do this. GM and Ford can both produce these engines, as can Toyota, Honda, and other Japanese firms. It’s all possible if you have SANE and INTELLIGENT people setting the basic framework of energy policy.
